Customer Reviews

Let’s take a look at what their clients have to say:

“Deck City built a MASSIVE wood deck for me in the spring of 2021. Not only did they complete it on time, but they also started it much earlier than expected and had piles in the ground several weeks early because of good spring weather. They were accommodating for on-site changes and the one small defect issue I had a few months later (due to material, not workmanship) was resolved quickly and made perfect as if it never happened. The project was done in the early spring when it was very muddy and there was still snow coming and melting so it was messy, but given the circumstances, they kept the site as clean as they possibly could. The crew was very friendly and we were happy to have them around through the process.” – Jeremy Pillipow

“I know Covid really caused delays and distress for all. I had contacted a deck contractor in April and was told I had to wait till August for my privacy screen. I called in July to confirm and was told they would come out to make measurements. They never came and August flew into September. I was concerned I would never get my screen. Then in October, I called Deck City. Within 3 days I was called back. I had an estimate that was more than fair. I called to accept and sent the deposit required. Within a week they came out to inspect the property and confirm the job. Mike made suggestions that showed an understanding of my needs and his knowledge. They were on time and I was still enjoying my deck without feeling I was in a fishbowl and visible to all. I highly recommend Deck City as a reputable company that will listen to your needs and delivers what they promise. I can hardly wait for next year!” – Robbie Giltrow

Windeck is professional, trustworthy, and just a great company with staff that takes pride in their work.” – Rick Vos-Wiebe

“I bought my deck fourteen years ago. It is still one of my favorite things about this house. I recently called to ask what to do about one of the posts settling due to the recent drought conditions. Mel, the guy that I dealt with originally, called me back and discussed my options. Luckily for me, it was something I was able to adjust myself with no problems.” – Wayne Ramlal

“Had a fence, a deck, and a pergola did in 2020 by Derek at Squirrel. I share my boundary with 3 neighbors and had 3 different companies do the 3 portions of my fence. The section done by Derek was bar none the best of the 3. There really is a difference going with a professional. There was a bit of an issue with the pergola that developed but Derek came back this year to correct it and its looking good.” – Roger Galante

“Working with Paul and his team on our deck project was amazing. He’s a rare breed of competent, communicative, professional, and ethical. Attention to detail was awesome, with no shortcuts. Did not make any design assumptions and checked in before proceeding with every item so that the expectations would be met. Did not disappear or start a new project without finishing ours. Cleaned up every day before leaving so we could live comfortably while the project was in progress. Would use him again for sure and after a series of contractors that were a bad experience, it was refreshing to find one that leaves up to a high standard” – Scott Hinkson

“Paul did an amazing job on our deck. He is very professional and his work is immaculate. He is always on time and very professional. Best deck guy in Winnipeg. I would give him 10 stars if I could. I would recommend him to all my friends and family. Thank you Paul for our amazing deck!” – Jojo Samm

FAQs

What is the cheapest deck to build?

The most cost-effective decking material is pressure-treated wood. That appears to be a good deal in terms of immediate savings, but don’t forget about the long-term costs. Wood decks require yearly maintenance, such as staining or painting, and if you neglect them, they will deteriorate quickly.

Does a deck add value to a home?

Improvements to a deck can recoup their entire cost.

While many home renovation projects only recoup between 50% and 80% of their cost, multiple studies have found that the ROI for patios and decks can be as high as 100% depending on the size and materials used.

That’s All! If we missed any good Deck Builders in this review, please let us know and we’ll make it right.
